FINAL INITIATIVE COMPLETION REPORT «EUROPE ARE US»

We have called our Project` Europe are us´, because we wanted to make people conscious about the fact that we all form Europe. So we started finding out about general aspects of the countries and we also looked into what Europe offered. We asked people about what they knew about this topic and finally, we concentrated on  the European programmes for teenagers.

The first step  in our project was collecting information about the countries which form the European community , the European  parliament and all the information about  European programmes, prizes etc..The comic we had to read was great help to find this data. So we prepared together with our mates from the other Eurocascales group  posters in order to exhibit them in the main corridor of the school where parents and students usually pass.
After that we decided to check what people from Murcia knew about Europe  so we prepared a survey with general  questions and went out .We recounted the survey and found out that many people Know facts but there are still  people who are far from it.

We also had an appointment with the Europe Direct Director in Murcia. It was really interesting since they explained and made clear many aspects of the topic we didn’t know  and most important, they gave us the source to look into any European issue, together with interesting websites to get information about anything that we could be interested in.

Finally, since our school participates in Comenius which is one of the European programmes, we took advantage of this fact and interviewed some students from different countries about the European programmes for teenagers and their experience with it. They all agreed about being a positive experience which links European teenagers to make us aware that `Europe are us´.

We start working

One of our purposes is to show people why the European Union is so important for all of us. So we thought that if we made some posters dealing with it and we exhibited them in our high school, the students would know more about EU and its functions.
Here is a video showing all the posters that we have done.

We hope you like it.

WE & COMENIUS STUDENTS

Comenius students from different European cities have come to our high school and we have asked them some questions about Europe

This is the interview we made about the things that Europe offers us.

Introducing ourselves

We made a short video introducing us.
The group of Eurocascales is very excited about this plan, and we are going to do our best for it.
We hope you like it!

The project

Well, as you can see we are very interested in the project so we have done many activities like murals and powerpoints about what Europe offers, we have gone out to the streets to interview people to see what they know about Europe and we have done surveys too. We have also interviewed some European students who take part in the Comenius project of our school, a school which has been involved  in the project for many years.
And one more thing...  WE WANT TO WIN!!
